How do you secure your pazzo levers?

So I was planning on riding to see the AMA races and one thought I had was how can I make sure (or at least safer) that somebody does not walk off with my expensive Pazzo levers (someone told me the new price for them went up to $180 for a set). I know I could just take them off and carry them with me, but I would rather not do that everytime I park my bike somewhere. The stock hardware only requires a flat tip screwdriver and ten seconds to pull them off.

Have any of you found any security type of fastner to use that makes removal so hard that a thief will just go find an easier target? An allen wrench bolt is not good enough becuase allen wrenches are kinda common, better than the flat tip screw that comes with the levers but not good enough for my comfort. I am at work now and can not look at my Pazzo levers but if I remember correctly the head is much wider than the screw diameter, so using a regular bolt or screw will leave a gap where everything is flush as it sits now.

Got a part number or store that has what you may be using?

Thanks in advance.

Shouldn't there be a nylon locking nut on the bottom of the said screw thus preventing theft..

The nylon locknut will only prevent the fastener from vibrating loose. All you need are basic hand-tools, just as most common hardware.

I would suggest an alarm with a perimeter sensor, like a Scorpio. This way if anyone goes near your ride, your remote will "page" you.

As far as tamper proof hardware that will fit without any modifications, that's kinda tough. You could torque the nut to spec, and then drill a hole through the nut and shoulder bolt and drive a 1.5MM roll pin through it. That would only slow down a would be lever thief, as an allen wrench and a pair of vise grips will probably shear the pin.

If they want your levers bad enough, dude, they are gonna get 'em, or destroy them in the attempt to steal them.

OR... They could steal your entire bike, and get the Pazzos as an added bonus (are you listening, Matt?).

Go with the alarm for an added layer of security for your whole bike.

Your a lot of help.

I am asking about securing a pair of levers and your suggestion is to go purchase a Ducati. I'd ride a Harley before I would ride a Duck, but thats just me.

Besides your suggestion would not help because there is no Ducati park at the NHRA races, the all Harley drags championships, the annual adult video awards, Vegas bike week, Laughlin river run, thunder in the mountains, any of the 100 casinos here in Vegas and many other places I ride to, so thanks for your non answer - answer.

Harley drags huh? Well there you go, your safe. Those guys wouldn't know what to do w/ a Busa, let alone a pazzo lever.

A Geza bike cover offers a out of site, out of mind defense.

For extra security, add a bike alarm (Scorpio) with its perimeter sensor set low. The alarm will sound off when a knuckle lifts the Geza cover or touches the bike.   Setting the perimeter sensor low like this will keep the alarm from falesly activating and draining the battery when parked in a high traffic area.

Braze the slots closed, dress the heads then repaint. Install with red locktite, you should be able to screw them all the way in by hand. After the locktite sets install lock nuts with red locktite from the bottom. You will need heat to remove them.

Thanks Wooody, Red locktite is inexpensive it works and I actually have some in the garage. Probably will just red locktite it and dremmel the slot in the head smooth. I was going to send a request form in to these guys for these crazy and effective anti vibration nuts and bolts that are easily removable with the small tool they sell.
