Holy Schnitz!

I don't know how many of the busa brethren have purchased stuff from Schnitz, but I had a bad experience with them recently. Albeit this was my first (and last) transaction with them, you only get to make one first impression. Firstly, I didn't get my order for a month, and when I did receive it, it was short the free gift (little kick stand plate.) Secondly, the license plate relocator from Tiger Racing that I bought was NOT worth the $100! Saw-cut edges, barely cleaned up, and the bend looks like it was done over a pipe with no heat (all the VERY visible stress fractures in the metal.) My roommate is a machinist, and he had a good laugh at me for about five minutes. I wouldn't have had such high expectations for cosmetic quality if this was a functional part. However, this is a PURELY cosmetic part, and should have had better finishing then the end junk I got! I had to go out and buy a BIG license plate frame to obscure all of the imperfections in this piece. Schnitz did try and rectify the situation by sending me out the kickstand plate, but that is really too little, too late. I am NOT some jerk consumer that wants way more than my money's worth and pisses and moans, so take heed when ordering from Schnitz (esp. the Tiger racing stuff.)

Wow!! sorry to hear of your problem. I have never had a bad experience with Schnitz and that is a lot of orders. Obviously you have not had a good experience in products and service. Schnitz has been by far one of the better companies to deal with, I would let them know further of your disapointment with their company.

I have never had a bad experience with schnitz racing either and I have bought from them multiple times... They have always been good to keep me informed of how my transaction is going...

Sorry to hear about the bad experience, but I hope it was just circumstances this time...

Send Schnitz an e-mail with the link to your post. I did that when I was not happy with Sprocket Specialists. In my case they read it and next day aired an order that was alreay a month late. It is interesting to see what kind of reply you get back.

I have ordered several things from Schnitz for all my bikes and they have been nothing but a pleasure to deal with. They don't make the Tiger products, they just sell them. I agree that the price on the undertail is a bit high but I still bought one for my bike and like it. Make sure you're putting it in right, cause it's a tight but clean fit. If you were waiting on the order then they must have been waiting on the supplier. Dave Schnitz and family are extremely nice people and will try there best to make you happy.

I would say the bad part is the fault of the manufacturer. Schnitz supplies racing parts and while I have always had good experiences with them, they do have a racing part mentality of "racing parts=no returns" which always makes me want to be sure I know what I am ordering.

I've dealt with them on several occassions also, and without any complaints.  Always speedy delivery.  Service is cool, but I'm a little skeptical about their prices.  A lot of their merchandise is a tad bit over-priced in my opinion.

True, but in most cases you are paying a little more to get the service and qualit etc. bargain basement is not alwas a good place to get stuff when you eed it. In this post however I do not know what to say, when the feeling is not getting what you need.

Silver Bullet,

I am very sorry you received inferior products from me thru Schnitz Racing.  Please e-mail me and I will take back all your products that you are dissatisfied with.  I would like to get all your items back because my QC has apparently fallen by the wayside to which I am unaware.
E-mail  GuyCaputo@buckeye-express.com with your items, address and phone if you wish.  I will make good any problems you have howver you like. I wouldn't want garbage on my bike either.

Guy

Hey SB sorry to hear you had a bad experience with Schnitz I ordered a few things from them and had no problems at all. Like the others stated it is probably the piece from Tiger racing. E-Mail Guy over at Tiger he seems like a pretty stand up guy(LOL) and I think he'll set the record straight.

Silver Bullet, checked my e-mail this morning, nothing yet, need your addy. I will send a UPS call tag for you, no need for you to spend any shipping dollars. Waiting to hear from you. I want to help.

Guy

You can't get better service than that. Keep up the good work Guy. By the way I'm am pleased with my tiger tail....

This was actually for the license plate relocator (for mounting vertical on the swingarm.)  I've already had my buddy clean the part up, but it was the whole experience that turned me off.  One month delayed shipping, short 1 part, and the quality once it got there.  The thing that I really think put me over enough to post this thread was the fact that the description says "...has all the necessary holes laser cut for you to mount most all U.S. license plates..." and it doesn't fit California plates!  WTF?!  CA has to have the most riders, the most bikes, and if it doesn't fit CA plates, I think that would be something worth mentioning, ESPECIALLY when the part is being shipped to California!
Here is a link to the part:
Thanks for your offer Guy, but I've already had the part sent off for finishing, and I am sure that it will look great once its come back.  I don't mean to bag on your parts, especially because it DOES take a lot of work to engineer these parts, but I would take the time to clean them up more before you send them off (the cosmetic stuff, anyways.)  My buddy just cleaned up the edges and sent them off for plating. I would also enclose instructions or post them to your site, so people don't have to hunt you down to figure out how to mount these things.  I should also mention that customer service on your end was top notch when I called for mounting instructions.

Just venting because I haven't had plates on my bike for MONTHS since I installed the undertail, and I ordered a vanity plate that reads sideways, so it NEEDS to be vertical...

I understand your plight.  I have looked at quite a few plate holders on the shelf.  I had 2 out of 36 that looked like crap.

Please send me your bill for finishing the product and your address to GuyCaputo@buckeye-express.com and I will reimburse you for everything.  It was also my fault for the shipping delay to Schnitz.  I rushed my manufacturer and I hurried to get them to Schnitz without even looking at them.
They must have had the laser turned on warp speed.  My fault for not QCing better, my extreme apologies.

I have already made CAD changes and will have another version that will fit the other states the first one did. I would also like to send you one when they are finished.

Guy
