are the wires long enough for the ballast to be mounted anywhere else but on the intake tubes? I would think the ballast get a little hot, and warm or hot air decreases performance...

to think that the ballast will increase the air temp enough to impact performance may be a stretch.

But you could easily mount them in the nose to keep them away from the air ducts.

well i must say, i just got done puttin mine on and it was not that easy, NOW!!!!! i must admit that if i had to do it again it would most likely be a lot easier. I want ahead and removed the nose piece 1) Because my forearms and PAWS are too big to manuever in there for the bottom bulb and 2) I just wanted to know what it took to get the nose piece off, its fu@kin overrated dont do it unless you just feel like you have to. GREAT little kit, are the ballast supposed to whine like that for the first couple of minutes....... They are extrememly bright and not as blue as you would think.

I hear ya. I am so used to taking my plastics off that its nothing now.

It gives you so much more room to work with.

Yeah mine did whine a little for the fist few minutes, but the other set I had did the same thing.

Seems to have gone away or I've gotten used to it.

Or if you were worried about it - you could wrap some self adhesive insulating tape around the air tube where the ballast mounts............ just a thought.

Just an idea for those wondering of the possibilties of what to use as a spacer for the low beam bulb.

I made a washer out of doubled up foam pads you would use under wooden chair legs. Cut a hole out of the center, cut a section for the wire to slip through and put the sticky part to the other sticky part. Just an idea.

I have not tried it yet but I dont know why it wont work.

Took off the lower shield to get better access to the high beam. To hard to reach down and do it.

I forgot to take pics of the high beam ballast, but I put it on the right air duct and used some double side tape to secure it.

I likey the look.
