The real question would be if you seen a hungry gator would you have thrown the turtle at him or would you took the chance at put him in a safe place?

You're a good man, Blanca. I thought you're going to put him in a plastic bag and bring him home so we can have turtle soup when we come visit your place.:laugh:j/k

I bet if it's a 6 ft. gator trying to cross, you would have made a U-turn as soon as you spotted it:rofl:

If it had been a gator I would have stopped same as I did for turtle .
Jumped on his back , wrangled him up by tail and tossed him like a football
NOT !
A gator I would have turned around same , came close and goosed the throttle . It would have scurried away .
Either that or a few horn blasts usually does the trick .
Gators like to lay in road for the heat to warm themselves up so they are usually not crossing but just sleeping there .
I saw about 5 or 6 small ones dead on side of road from being hit . It's a bummer to me to see animals dead in roads cuz folks are in too much or a hurry .
I realize it can't always be avoided and sometimes you actually risk yourself by swerving around them .
