gen2 suspension on a gen1

will gen2 suspension fit on a gen1. forks and rear shock

I think the Rear Shock is the same on both.

The forks will not fit. Different including wheel, rotors, calipers etc.

GenII shock is a little taller and has a heavier spring. It will bolt on without any modifications.

If you do a complete front end swap of the forks and wheels then you only needto swap the lower triple tree and the damper. If you want to retain Gen1 config front wheel then you also need to shim the brake disks and calipers.

So a gen 2 shock would be a bit better for riding 2 up
