Yes, the 9 x 12 works just fine. You will have to cut what ever you put in there. I got mine at Home Depo It's the same one listed in this thread.

I just finished mine. I used the foam around edges and will go back and trim/paint.. I'm thinking of getting a yoga type mat and spray an adhesive before I lay it down on the bottom...Quick question I had to disconnect battery will my PCV keep its settings?

Thank you OP for showing this.! I've wanted to do something like this for years (tupperware and fiberglass) but stumbling upon this I did it the next day (the version 1) haha! ... slit my brake line notching the plastic for removal lol... I haven't seen anyone put this in their tail so I thought I would add in that I installed a ciggarette lighter/charger in the back with usb's for phone charging.. Great mod!

I was just looking to do this mod to a buddies 2011. I can't see how you can gain much more than an inch of room and still have the 5"s of travel that the rear wheel needs. Are you guys not concerned about bottoming out the rear suspension?

I come in at 300+ before gear, my wife is 135 before gear. I have about 3.5" IIRC and even with hitting known bumps pretty hard there's been no issue with bottoming. All that's missing is luggage but even then I don't think it's going to be an issue.

Hi i have a 2011 white Busa i want to do this to my bike as well but for a very different reason i would like to use the trunk space for a amp i am putting a sound system on my bike and i would like to know how how many inches is there between the space of the frame on right and left side in the rectangle slot in this picture so i can know what size speakers will fit thanks

I currently have a system installed in my 07 Busa with a small Poly Planar amp in the trunk. i want to know the new deminsions (Width, Length, Height) of this trunk mod because I want to put a slightly bigger amp in the trunk. I gotta keep up with the theme of my bike. SOUNDWaVE

So far i put 6.5 speakers in the tail. BusaBoB saw it during Myrtle Beach and gave it the thumbs up. i need to post pics.

The plastic trashcan trunk won't dryrot, and neither will a fiberglass job done correctly.

Can is cut to a depth of 4.5 inches.

Placed into fender just a little less than 1 inch below square plastic tab behind ecu you see in above picture...

That should give you a depth of 5.5 inches to the bottom of crossbar where seat latch is...

Length is basically same as bottom of uncut can....just over 11 inches...

Width again is basically same as uncut can....just over 7 inches...

Thanks Jyoungblood87 i was thinking that a 6.5 would fit in there just needed to know for sure before i order the speakers online.
