Will the Gen 2 gauge cluster fit in place of the Gen 1 gauge cluster? Or will I have to change the front clip?

Yes, I have everything except the gauges and plastic because I was just going to change motors but I would have to do a lot of changing out stuff because of the 08 motor and 06 motor have different equipment.

so what I was thinking is just change out gauge cluster and not buy 08 plastics because there is nothing wrong with my plastics, just spun a bearing in my 06 motor and found an 08 for 2000

change out motor, transmission, ecm, front end, etc...

heck the motor mounts probably are not the same for the gen I vs gen II either, so add that to the list.
