I don't get to ride my bike every week but I keep the tank full so it doesn't rust inside. I noticed that after a lenghty ride around the Dallas area today, my gas gauge still registers full. What could be the problem?
There is residual sulfur in refined gasoline and it can corrode the silver-based fuel sending units in certain vehicles . Maybe other yellow metals as well .
If the sender is corroded it cannot send signal to the guage .
Go to the Chevron fuels site and or search Techron for more info . They make a product for such problem ... if thats whats wrong and you don't have a open wire going to ground .
