Fuel question

Ok I have heard that on the Busa when you get to a certin RPM the fuel starts to lean out. I am putting on a MPS auto shift kit on today an I am wanting to know at what rpm I should set the shifter to shift at.

Not sure about fuel mixtures but 10,200 RPM is a pretty good shift point for me.

I'm not an expert, but why would it lean out as RPM's increase?

I would think that the mixture would start to richen up due to the ram air effect. More air needs more fuel.

That's what happens on my dyno sheet.....

Hi pward, I'm wondering if you could tell me where you had your bike dynoed? I wasn't aware of anyone close with a dyno but if someone has one I would like to put my bike on it once just for fun. Also let me know if you're out and about and looking for someone to go ridding with, I'll try and meet up with you some this summer. Thanks Jeff

well...you sure didn't go to the source to find out.

using 50309 as a search point....there are at least 24 dealers of which 5 have dynos within 100 miles which are dynojet registered tuning centers....and there is likely more that just have dynos.

Hi Jeff.

The guys that did mine had a trailer with the dyno in it and had towed it to bike night at Trophy's a couple of years ago. I'm not sure how much experience they had with it at the time. Their contact info is below.

Contact Tony Tice @ (515) 465-5681. Located at the Van Wall Motorsports in Perry, Iowa.

C& C Cycles have one in Chariton, and I would go to them, and I tried to, but the guy that runs the dyno would never return my (repeated) calls, and I even rode down there one day to make an appointment, but he wasn't there, and they were not interested in calling him so he could set up the appointment, so....

I am planning on going down to KC this summer to have Steve Smithers do a dyno tune for me. I just met him this week, and I was very impressed with him and his knowlege.

Radical Cycle and House of Horsepower also have them, but according to the PowerCommander / DynoJet website, these guys do not have the "tuning link software". So if you want to get a quick set of 3 dyno runs to look at HP, A/F ratio and torque, these guys would probably be ok.

But for a tuning session, I am going to Smithers.....

I'm sure we will meet up and ride this summer! I'm looking forward to it.
