I would modify the old tank by carefully inserting it into the trash can....no, you can first pull all of the old pump garbage out and weld the hole, drill and tap it for a 3/8" bung. That is probably the best fix or you can disconnect the pump, and do all of this other mobojumbo, and leave the pump in there. I'd do the first setup and run a -8 AN line from a 3/8" adapter to your pump but if you go with the NLR kit, I don't think that you need to be worrying about all of this
