fuel light.. when does it come on?

Mine will come on when I have a little less than a gallon left. Usually around 140 to 150 miles depending on how hard I am riding.

CA tank holds 5.0 gals.

The smartass answer is. . . When you're almost outa gas.

 

The technical answer is. . . When you have 0.9 gals left.

And the "smart" answer is to never be in a position to see the light in the first place!

My light comes on at about 175 miles, but I like to get gas after two hours of riding. I just walk around and strech and feel better when I get back on. When I hit about half a tank , that is time to look for gas. I do not want to push the bike.

Interesting topic with more interesting answers. My light has never blinked. It just comes on. Seems to be about at 1/8 a tank but I have always questioned it at fill-up. The float adjust help is real interesting info for me. I have had it come on solid....(never has blinked) and I have gone 30 miles.......sweating the last 5 or 6 like you couldn't believe.

Then at fill up she takes like 3.7 gallons.

I sorta miss the old style fuel shut-off valves. On....Off....and Reserve positions. Reserve gets hit and you better start looking for a fill-up.
