When I removed the front wheel, I never had to loosen the pinch bolts on the clutch side. I've heard that when I install the axle, I need to loosen the clutch side pinch bolts. The service manual doesnt say anything about this. What do I need to do to install in correctly?

You need to leave the pinch bolts tight on the clutch side so that the threds that the axle is going into do not spin. At least that is what works for me.

do not loosen the pinch bolts on the clutch lever side!
only the ones on the other side, the brake lever side.
then unscrew the axel, dont forget to remove the brake callipers...and thats all there is to it.

Only Losen the bolts on the clutch side. I took the bolts off both brake and clutch side, and couldn't figgure out why the axel wasn't comming out....duh.

Anyhow, wouldnt hurt to take all the bolts out after the axel is out, clean out the threads & use some blue loctite on them. Torque em down to spec and you should be good to go.
