Front axle removal ?

Ok im taking the right side rotor and caliper off my bike. I loosened the 4 pinch bolts that holds the axle. Now im going to go get a bolt and 2 nuts at lowes tomrrow with a 24 mm head. Which way do i turn it and do i need to tighten the left side pinch bolts back. Thanks

yes...re-tighten the pinch bolts on the left, as they hold the "nut" that the axle screws into.
there's no reall need to loosen the left ones for simple tire removals.

also a 15/16 SAE will also fit the the axle if you want to make a tool from a bolt & 2 nuts.

That sucker will probably be on there really tight... I'd have a nice piece of pipe to slip over your ratchet or a long breaker bar to make sure you don't have any problems...

i feel stupid now that i found out how easy it was. My rims are black Can i use some black touch up paint to black out where the rotor was. Yeah i like my little mouse in my avatar!!
