Front sprocket/clutch noise

I am hearing/feeling a noise/vibration coming from what seems like the front sprocket while going down the road. When I pull the clutch in it stops.

I have taken the cover off the front sprocket and everything seems tight. Someone I work with suggested it could be in the clutch side that a bolt has loosened up. I plan to check that tomorrow but I have never worked on bikes but am very mechanically inclined.

If any of you could share some of that wisdom and knowledge I would be greatly appreciated. Anything I should be looking for since this is all new to me?

It is a:
2006
roughly 15,000 miles
all stock excecpt for exhaust
It is used mostly as a daily commuter 50 miles per day with some light sprited riding on the weekends.

Thank you.

I am just curious (because I am not very mechanically inclined myself, so I know I will not be able to help you) but does it make the noise under power?

Yes, you can hear it under power. It almost sounds like a warped rotor, where it rubs/makes noise as it rotates.

It also makes a noise during rolling on or off the throttle. To me it almost feels/sounds like the chain is too loose but it is not.

Pull that front sprocket cover and clean all the crap out of it, may or may not be the problem but that area does have a ton of grease and road grime build up, eliminate the easy free stuff first and report back:thumbsup:
