I got a picture message at 10 till 9 this morning of my friends rashed helmet and the txt said Eric wipped out last night. He's in the hospital with a broken pelvis and ruptured spleen. This message was from eric's cousin paul. I called paul at about 1 to see how eric was doin, and he said "he's not stable yet, but the doctors say he's going to be ok. They're going to reconstruct his pelvis with metal plating and they have him sedated and strapped to the bed cause every time he wakes up he tries to take everything off."

Thankfully he's in Greenville Memorial which has the only 2 pelvic reconstruction specialists in SC, and the doctors say that they're some of the best in the country. Pelvic reconstruction to them is like tieing their shoes. Right now no one knows anything about how the accident happened. They don't know where his bike is or anything. I'm sure it's in an impound somewhere, but the only thing we know right now about what happened is he went flying around a car sometime late last night and the couple in the car said 2-3 minutes later they found him wrecked. So the only person that knows what happened is Eric, and right now he can't talk to anyone. He can hear, but can't talk. He has a tube in his nose going to his lungs and one down his throat for nurishment. They said that he was so tight and flexing his muscles so hard either tryin to keep control of the bike or trying to protect himself in the fall that he actually seperated the fat from his muscles and he has a lot of internal bleeding. He's 17 years old and he's one of the toughest guys I've ever met. He had a Honda rebel for a while, then a shadow. A woman pulled out in front of him while riding the shadow and he went over the hood, but was ok. He just got the 99 bandit he was riding last night about a month or so ago.

Prayers sent, I hope he recovers soon, keep us posted please...???

prayers sent to your friend and his family. hope the recovery process goes well.

Thanks for all the prayers. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted on his condition. They're going to be doing the pelvic reconstruction sometime today, but I don't know when.

He had the pelvic surgery this morning. I'm told everything went well and he came out of it ok. He's still heavily sedated and will remain that way for quite a while from what I understand. I'll continue to post details as I recieve them.

Please tell your bud that everyone here wishes him the best!
