I'm thinking that even though you are backlogged for 2 years you need to release a Hayabusa.org Special Edition Knife. I have no idea what you need to make it out of. I have no idea what it needs to look like and I KNOW that I am not qualified to tell you either.
What I do know is if it looks ANYTHING like any of the other knives we've seen from you it's gonna be KILLER! (Oh and since it's MY Idea Mine is 50% off with a serial number of 002

)
Lets see what the other board members have to say about it...

I would be in as long as I can have serial #007. How about a compact folder with a damascus blade?

WOW!!

Well...............

Where do I begin???

First off I'm honored that you would mention this!!

The idea of doing a run of custom knives or even what we call "Semi Custom" is most likely going to be quite cost prohibitive.  Below is a picture of a very simple fixed blade called the Henchman.  I made a limited edition run of them, 50 in total for the members of knife forum that I'm a member of.  Doing everything I possibly could to keep the the price down, they still ended up costing $275 each with a simple IWB (inside the waistband) sheath.  They are made from Crucibles S30V steel, heat and cryo treated, no corners cut on quality materials.

Another option would be to do a run of factory made knives, possibly with a Busa logo or forum logo.  I'm part of the design team for for the Benchmade Knife Company in Oregon.  They have several of my designs in production now. Very high quality, made in the USA.

One of my dealers did a run of their 630 model (my design) for the knife forum. I think they ended up costing the members about $160. Below are pics of the forum edition knives.  If this might be of interest, I would be glad to have the same dealer look into doing a run for us here. Still not inexepensive but much less than than a semi custom project!  They also have the smaller 635 model in production now, probably a more practical carry knife for riding ;)

Otherwise...........

I would be glad to make a custom something or other for the auction.  Just as long as it's after July!!!

the first link requires a membership; is there another place to see the custom work you do?

The Ususal Supects site does require membership to browse.

Other than the knife forums and my website you can see some of my work at these sites:

Got to knives, click on Neil Blackwood

They buy and sell on the secondary market but I also provide them with new knives on occasion.  He'll probably be posting a few new ones next week.

Jon is a Boss Hoss dealer that also deals in custom knives.
