Filling gaps between aftermarket fairings

Carbon parts never seem to fit great unless you do all from the same factory . I love them but its spendy , what co. did you get the front from?

Hi! I got them all from mdi carbon who make them to order. Lets hope when the inner fairings arrive there is a new story!

Sorry been away! I got them all from MDI Carbon Fiber. They have sent the inner panels and back end out today so I will be getting on with it all soon. I have asked them to send out some carbon fibre matting too, I will try tacking that to the door seals and see if it makes it look nice. Ill upload pics when Im done.

Im not complaining it all loooks awesome, but I dont like seeing the gap and it allows a little rattel sometimes. If something niggles me I like to sort it out. Gives me another excuse to look my bike over top to bottom again!

And the fairing stays are all correct ?

Yeh I put the old undamaged nose back on to check and the inner fairings fitted again, the curve in the new fenders sits a little higher and ends up being a different shape than the rim of the inners. I imagine it will be the same with the carbon fiber inners, so I am all ready to door seal it!

Almost done! Have completed the rear end, have the rubbers i need for the front which I will install this weekend weather permitting!

I ended up with some U shaped rubber floor seal strips. The are weather and UV resistant so I got a metre for 7 bucks. Cut them and glued them with a gel glue to the outer fairing lip. Also got dome sticky back door Foam, to fill above the clocks.

Pics are before I screwed the fairings back on where all gaps were sealed. I love it! Went for a ride and all the movement i allowed for made sure it all held up tight. Very happy!

That looks very nice glad the seal idea worked well for you...

You were right, the gap looked bad. That door seal worked pretty dang well. Glad you were able to find a solution that worked AND was cheap.
