I'm and absolute phucktard when it comes to all the electronics on this Gen 3. With that being said/admitted. As I'm figuring out I can't do alot of the bolt on mods I'm used to doing and almost wishing I would have just waited and found another nice Gen 1 or B-King (getting hard to do) because they are simple to me. As I'm researching its starting to look like once my old azz figures out the computer/ecu game this may be fun and easy. It looks like I *need* a Woolrich or similar to achieve several things I would like to do. One example, I have always run the Robbymoto quick throttle, l have very large hands and after my last crash destroyed my wrist (took almost 3 years off riding) now me balls grew back got a Gen 3. This bike by far has the longest throttle I've ever twisted! Hence looking to shorten it. Anyways I just discovered I can do this in the ecu,YAY! Kill restrictions, tre, ect. without adding products. No more Power Commander as I will be able to do a lot myself when I figure which system I'm go to use. This may be very cool.

I'm so late to the game...

You won’t fix the launch restrictions in the ECU or with Woolich software. I’ve only seen it done with a SSB addition that disables some feature. Not really a big deal unless you are real serious about the drags and super aggressive launches.

Gen-3 is far superior to the Gen-1 or B-King, you just need to get up to speed on the tech.

Far superior as in more electronics? I prefer my B-King over my gen 3

My previous Gen 1 'Busa always felt like it was trying to kill me, so I've learnt to love the electronics on my Gen 3 which feels like it's doing everything it can to keep me alive. I love the fact that I can come out of a corner in a low gear with the throttle pinned using blind faith that the nannies are preventing me from unexpectedly flipping or sliding out. Because I'm still alive, so far, so good.

I haven't even played with the tc yet, although I was thinking about that for the twisties. Hell, I don't even know if I I can change tc on the fly or not. I've had zero time to ride since I've got it.

And as I stated at the beginning I am a mentally challenged when it comes to fancy electronics..

I like that on the edge, out of control feeling.
I ride my Gen-3 back to back with my Gen-1, early Gen-2, a B-King and a few other low tech bikes like GSX11’s, GSXR, RF900 etc. The tech takes nothing away from the fun, it’s mostly reactive not proactive, much of it is adjustable or switchable. I have one of the modes saved as a low tech version. Set a Gen-3 up how you like. I’ve never ridden mine and thought I wish it was crude and dated. Quite the opposite, I jump on other bikes and wish they were as good.

The gen3 is equipped with ride by wire but, the throttle still has cables. Only difference is that they now move a sensor, instead of, the linkage on the gen 1s and 2s. I don’t see why one of those throttles you mentioned wouldn’t work.

If I can shorten it with ecu, I wouldn't have to add or swap parts. Correct?

The throttle thing is interesting..
Being the Gen3 has cables from the throttle tube, adjusting it via the ecu, I wonder what it does as the throttle tube rotation would still be the same amount. I wonder if it gets to 70% rotation and anymore makes no difference?

Whereas an aftermarket throttle tube has a different lobe profile to move the cable quicker to the stop.

That's what I thought. I even saw an older thread similar about throttle where one of the Gurus out here said it can be done with ecu. A lot of the one's you can buy don't really make that noticeable of a difference. I have shout outs to Robbymoto and Motion Pro( the only 2 I know of with interchangeable cams) to see their response. I'm still looking into Woolich also it looks like a necessity for all the electronics.

Now is the time to read through your owners manual and play around with the controls to familiarize yourself with how everything works. Scrolling through the menu button and changing settings is pretty easy and user friendly once you figure them out.

There's a YouTube video from MM that talks about the throttle restriction and it can be removed with a ECU flash..he shows the difference between 24 and 25 restrictions.
When I got my ECU flashed by him I could tell the difference right away on the throttle response.
I think it was @Bumblebee that said it was called "light switch"

The flash made a huge difference in throttle response on my Gen 2.....

I'd imagine the same could be done with a Gen 3..........
