If you're careful not to ground it out on anything.
Use a piece of wire instead, with both the bare ends fully in the plugs.
You Can ride the bike this way too.

Tried it today with a bit of wire and got C-00 on the display which is all good. Also discovered how to disable the shift light so that's now turned off. Thanks for the tips. I'm learning.
