Easy 10.06 at the strip

Last night I went 10.06 on my third pass with the Hayabusa. I weigh 220lbs so I don't expect great numbers. I was still soft on the launch and I am sure I can go 9.80's with some more practice. My mph was 137 on all passes. I have Brock's clutch modification in, and it works great. I strapped the front end also.

I have owned ZX-11's, Two R-1's, And a Blackbird.

My best times are:
93 zx-11 with mods, about 150hp 10.14 at 134mph
94zx-11, pipe and jet kit, 10.60 at 133mph
1998 YZF-R1, pipe and jet kit, 10.33 at 137mph....a bitch to ride even strapped down
1999 R-1, 10.68 @ 133mph stock
1997 CBR1100XX In stock form only 10.80 at 130mph. After heavy modification I can now go 9.91 at 138mph. The bike went 9.55 at 142mph with Michael Phillips riding.

So, in my real world of drag racing it is obvious the Hayabusa is great. It took me 15 passes to get into the 9's on my Blacbird with a 4 inch arm. On a stock 13 on close on the third pass.

I use Michael Phillips as a guide to how fast I should go. He usually has me by 4 tenths of a second on big bikes and a half second or more on a 600. He has two tenths by his skill, and about .15 on his weight. I way almost 230 in leathers and he is 170.

He went 9.53 on a Hayabusa with the stock clutch , after riding mine the other night, he felt 9.30's can be done....maybe or maybe not. I'll let you guys know.

I see where Schnitz makes a Clutch Modification for the 1300 for Drag Racing.Do you have a way to Contact Brock or is it the same enhancement?

hey happy, I was curious why on your 2 11's that one had like 150HP and the other just a pipe and jet kit with maybe 135HP and yet only 1 MPH terminal speed difference. what are your 60'times on these passes. I have a 94 GSX-R1100 that has run 10.48@130.83 in all stock configuration with just 123RWHP. all stock meaning, no pipe, jetting, gears or anything. Dynoed it in Monrovia CA at V & H and ran the times at Pomona, CA. I run between 1.69 and 1.71 to 60' on most passes and ran 1.70 on both of my 2 48 passes.

On my more powerful ZX-11 I had between 1.58 and 1.65 short times. I was considtant around 10.20.

I am not sure why MPH was about the same, but I guess it was because my short time on the faster bike was better and that makes for sometimes, a lower top speed.

As for the pipe and jetted version, I don't rmember my short times. I didn't know as much about racing as I do now. I faintly remember being in the low 1.70's

I do a much better job of driving now. I have good teachers.
