Dump pipe

How loud is the short little dump pipe on bikes that dont run cans? Is it too loud to run on the street? or too annoying for long rides?

you don't run a dump pipe on a normal bike. You need the backpressure of an exhaust system.

If you have a turbo you can run a dump pipe and they aren't that loud. I would say comparable to a harley at most. A loud harley is louder than my dump, and mine sounds much cooler.

Thrasherfox just cut his midpipes, he just running a straight pipe. He bought a power comander and a map from Johnny Cheese(I think) and it runs great. LOUD!!!!! PM thrasherfox for details.

Running a header alone is much louder than a dump pipe...I've heard a Muzzy Sidewinder and it's louder than a dump pipe also...I don't think a dump pipe will put you in violation of any noise ordnance statutes...As mentioned prior dump pipes are for turbo applications...
