Question, if I step up to 13.1 piston, with a stock bore, will I need to add a second battery? I was told that a 1397 kit with high compression require 2 batteries..

Never had any effect on mine, a friend said he thought it turned over slower, but I couldn't tell

CONGRATS on the new 9.4's

you could just get a higher cranking amp battery. Two batteries is an option but i've never heard anyone say it had to be done.

Depends on the compression.  If you are using the Custom 84mm JE's made for Tiger Racing and drop them in the hole about .010", Yes, you must have a 24V start system.  If you use an off the shelf 84mm JE (which is the only piston comapny I use) then your normal high amp battery will work just fine.
If you need a 2nd battery tray, I have one for you here.
