driven trailers

so i've been thinking about 4x4 trailers, i wonder if there's a way to drive the wheels of the trailer, like with a pto output or some output on the rear axle, so you wouldn't get stuck on icy grades or anything. wouldn't get stuck off road either

I dont think I have ever seen a trailer that has the wheels driven, but I have no problem pulling my trailer in snow and bad weather with my 4 wd truck.

It might be a bit hard to make that safe on the road...but I believe I saw that done once on a TV show (probably Extreme 4x4).

If I remember correctly they did it on a Deuce and a half with the trailer looking the same as the truck.
