Drag Racing in Cali, Oct 17th and 18th

It was a good weekend..except when my Buddy lost in the 4th round.
Lots of Quick Busa's 7's 8,s 9's 10's . The Dark blue 2nd gen .. notice his dial in 9.15.... !! All motor no wheelie bar...
I ran 2 passes on my stock 06 WRX with Brand new Bridgestone Blizzaks 14.3 @ 96 mph

I don't know a whole lot about the drag strip, so I have to ask about the footwear on the guy riding the blue '08.

Is that regulation or ? I've never seen that before.

No clue; seriously just trying to learn something here.

I was out there too, no racing for me. I had a couple friends racing their cars on Saturday. I seen another member of the org. Name is Ralph also riding the red genI. I only seen him make 1 pass and looks as he was having some problems.
