When i started riding, it was always leather jacket, helmet, gloves, boots, and jeans. then i slowly removed the boots from my every ride routine. I pretty much always ride with a helmet, jacket, gloves, and jeans.. although i have on occasion just work a t shirt and jeans with a helmet and gloves. only rode without a helmet and gloves once when i had to pick me bike up from the place that towed it and i didnt have any of my gear on me after work.

ive wrecked 7 times and have had 7 bikes in the past 3 years with well over 100k on these bikes combined. i ride a lot in the city, on the highways, long distance treks, as well as stop and go and stuff. Sh1t happens when you ride a lot.. doesnt mean im a bad rider

All gear, all the time.
I have 4 Shoei's just for me.
Another 15 or so assorted guest helmets.
4 fully armoured Jackets.
2 leather, 2 textile.
2 sets leather riding pants.
3 sets of riding boots.
10 or so different pairs of leather or motorcycle specific gloves.
I use the gear as much as my American Express Card, I never leave home without it.
And after the dumping I took a week and a half ago.
I plan on buying another 2 thousand bucks worth of gear for this coming season.
Maybe get some gear for the bike to, like frame sliders and other assorted goodies.
I let this last one go out naked and she payed dearly.
I wish to be the new board gear and safety GURU.

After racing for years and "YES" crashing, I know how much it can hurt with gear sad.gif . I sure don't want to find out how it is without gear down.gif . So, I don't ride without it coffee.gif

When I FIRST got on a motorcycle, I think I was about 18. Me and my BF at the time got on and went out for a few hours. I had my helmet on, a t-shirt and shorts.
Wow.
Now with Paul...He makes me put my jacket on just to go down the street. I would b*tch about it too!! Again...wow!
After his accident...its full gear...Jacket, gloves, helmet, I dont have pants right now. Im waiting to get a matching set. Plus I dont ride with him that often.
Paul is full gear guy too!!
Gear wont stop broken bones. But I would rather have Paul here with a gimpy little limp than not here at all. smile.gif

ALWAYS ride with helmet (state law anyway), gloves and leather jacket. I'm looking into the best deal I can find at this time for Joe Rocket leather pants which will be part of my gear for the upcoming riding season.
During the winter months I am guilty though, of weekly warm up runs up and down the street where I live with nothing but glasses and ball cap on. Shame on me!

I always wear a helmet, gloves, boots and my jacket...but only jeans on my legs. For the upcoming spring I plan on a few pairs of Icon or Draggin jeans.

when out in the shop working on a bike(when I used to be able too) I would ride up the street to test out adjustments/new parts/etc without full gear.(helmet, gloves, jacket always)

But 99% of time FULL GEAR.

You dress for the crash...not the ride.

I wear...well I used to wear:

helmet(the law here, besides how are you gonna get the chicks with a rashed up face) I'm far too pretty and vain to damage my mug....heheheh

padded moto cross mesh underwear...NOT KIDDIN...besides,the chicks dig it. Who wants a rashed up azz?

Full gloves,pants,jacket and BODY ARMOUR.

It was the chest plate on my body armour that took out my own windscreen when I got smoked.

Too each his own I guess. I'm kind of a mean ol' bastid at times...hehehe and when I hear about crashes with tons of road rash and scarred up faces an' shid. I laugh. I know its not nice an' all that...but....

Why reward stupidity?

hav a rash-free 1...RSD.

When I was STUPID, I mean YOUNGER FEARLESS AND INVINCIBLE. I used to swim in my parents pool in the backyard and then jump on my GSXR1100 and fly around the block doing 90 mph in a residential neighborhood with my bathing suit only! I mean ONLY, barefoot no helmet, nothing. The only protection I had was from the sunscreen. blush.gif
I don't feel invincible anymore. I guess that is what happens when you see people crashing in front of you. sad.gif

I wear what gear I have.. Over the ankle leather Hiking boots, Heavy jeans, Joe Rocket Mesh jacket (I've left the extra pads in), helmet and gloves.

Riding pants and boots are next on my list... and I'd REALLY like to get a leather jacket.

Only once did I ride without any gear,, 2 blocks to the gas station.. and the whole time I just KNEW I was going down. I didn't, but I won't try my luck like that again. blush.gif

Im getting better, I used to ride around in t-shirt, jeans and sneakers. Last summer I rode around some without a helmet but I am going to try to correct that this year. Here lately I have been wearing my Shoei helmet, JR meteor jacket, JR alter ego pants, JR razor gloves, and Sidi vertigo boots. I do have a lot more peice of mind knowing a have a better chance of coming out of a lay over with most if not all of my skin where it is suppose to be.

I need leather pants (with knee draggers) and to replace my over the ankle boots with full riding boots...  Always wear the rest, even on a 10 min trip to the corner store...

A few years back I witnessed one of my buddies (with a few glasses of wine in him, and I do mean two) decided to move his bike from the street in front of his house into his garage... he had no gear on and had the urge to rip down and back his residential street... The street ended in a T, and for some reason he said he ended up with 1/2 breaking power just before the T!  Must not have been his lucky day, cause there was a minivan coming down the other road and T-Boned him at 30mph. wow.gif  His head went through their winsheild and knocked him out... blood gushing everywhere!!! It was not a pretty site, mixed with bruises all over, some road rash, and a few broken ribs  sad.gif  Luckily no permanent damage...

That and a few "OH SHID" moments of my own thouroughly convinced me to wear my gear ALL the time  tounge.gif

Oh, and the pic in my avatar is IN my garage... and no I didn't have any gear on... obviously posin'  smile.gif
