Do you ever get on a bike with anything less than full leathers (top & bottom), leather riding boots (calf high), Leather Gloves and a DOT and / or Shell approved Helmet?

And I mean "ever"... riding it up the street to air dry, etc.

Be truthful... smile.gif

Truthfully, I have to admit I love cruzing around town with sun glasses & a T-shirt on.
I know it is dangerous and most of the time I always wear my helmet.
I wear helmet 98% of the time
gloves 90%
leather Jacket 70%
Light nylon mesh jacket 10%
Boots 40%
I have a wife and 2 boys 12 & 10, I try to set the example, but to tell you the truth. I love riding around on hot summer days with sunglasses on.

"Yes... I never ride with all that crap".  I am the first one to check yes to this one because that WAS me attitude.  However, after my highway get off last year that will change if I do get another bike.  Road rash sucks and it was only a small hole in my left knee. wow.gif  I had a helmet, mesh jacket, gloves and hikeing boots that I started to wear but I will add some kind of better pants to the mix.

Only wear a lid if it is raining or below 40 degrees. Or if I am going to be doing any type of serious racing.
Wear gloves 100% of the time.
Glasses 100%
Never wear leathers. Unless it is cold, then I wear a leather jacket.
Will be buying riding boots.

I layed my Busa down in Oct 04, had I been wearing a lid, it would have broken my neck because of the way I landed. Ended up with a broken vertebrae and two broken ribs. Full gear wouldnt have changed the outcome for the better.

I choose the 1st option however, I don't wear riding pants just jeans. It's an acceptable risk for me everything else is covered... wink.gif

Helmet, gloves, and Phoenix jacket which isn't leather but it's better than nothing, and jeans. Wear that 100% of the time I ride.

Leather jacket will be here this Saturday.

When I first started riding in the late 70's, California had not yet adopted the helmet law. So I had a helmet but didn't wear it all the time. Most of the time I wore t-shirt, jeans, tennis shoes... no eye protection, and helmet locked to the bike. I always wore a helmet after the law was passed.

I was riding with a friend one day when he got in an accident which nearly ripped is foot off at the ankle. We were both wearing tennis shoes. That changed the way I rode but not what I wore.

The Busa is the first bike I've owned in 15 years. I now wear a helmet, jeans, riding boots... and I'm waiting on a Cortech textile jacket to arrive.

I have gone around my development with shorts, tennis shoes and no helmet. If I'm leaving the development I will always be wearing helmet, gloves, boots, jeans and some kind of heavier jacket.

I don't use the bike to commute, it is strickly a toy. I don't ride it around town, too many blonde college students on cell phones. When it comes out, so does the gear.....I ride hard everytime I'm on the bike....I know I'm going down and I plan for it.

+1

Though I did ONCE take a quick run to my Dad's with just the full-face and shorts/t-shirt/tennis shoes on...it felt so strange; I'd never do it again...

I don't have all the leathers, but even if I did, I wouldn't wear them 100% of the time.

Infrequently, I ride with shorts/t-shirt. That's part of the freedom of riding a bike.

I always wear helmet/gloves though.
