I got this used busa for a steal, but after 200 miles i'm sad to say i'm not digging it. it is 6 inches over  and it feels like it is pulling to one side. the yosh sounds like ****, it backfires on downshifts and i think the power in very anemic. it wallows just riding it down the road, i'm getting blown all over the place. the swingarm feels like it moving all over the place. i guess im just used to my stiff telepathic steering of my track set up 04 1000. i need some advice before i try to sell. thanks

Take off the extensions, to start with, make sure the bike has a power commander. Also check to see if the pair valve is removed or bypassed. Thats where i would start!

Why did you buy it?? What are you looking for out of your bike??

Buying a stretched busa then not liking the way it handles in corners....

If you want the bike to feel better in corners, you need to go back to stock wheelbase and adjust your suspension.

Check and see if the PAIR valve has been removed. That is probably your backfiring problem.

I'm not trying to be funny or sarcastic ... but maybe there is a reason why the previous owner sold it for so little ...

Check for:

Rear Wheel alignment ( physically measure, Don't go by the lines)

Hanging Brake Caliper

Verify if a Power Commander is in fact installed. If not the bike will be running lean from better exhaust flow. From the pic it looks like you have the full Yosh system and not just a slip on. If that's the case a power commander is highly recommended along with the Pair Valve block off plates.

Look to see if all the stainless tubing located between the exhaust header and the engine block is still there. If it is, this is more than likely your problem. Look up "Marble Mod" and see if that doesn't help with the backfiring. ( This is the Pair Valve Mod everybody is talking about)

Low pressure on tires will also create a "lazy" feel on handling.

Removal of the extensions will give you the stock cornering ability.

This is a Busa, Not a litre bike. While it will still hang in the corners with the best of them it is not 'Flickable" as it is too dang big!

Lowering the front and or rear will also have effects on the bikes turn in abilities.

That rear reflector that's blinding everybody in the pic is more than likely the culprit though. It's acting like a lopsided wing

Check for play in the swingarm. Perhaps it was monkeyed with by the previous owner.

There's really nothing you can do about the sound of the Yosh exhaust Besides replace it. I highly recommend the HMF Dual Hi Rise exhaust as a remedy.

Checking these few things out may help you discover your problem. Good Luck and ride safe.

+1

I would agree the bike has some problems. I would recommend putting the bike back to stock. keeping all the mod peices and after you get it back to stock and running good then decide if you want to put any mods back on.

Stretched Busa's look cool. a and are good for the track but thats about it...

And it sounds like it isnt setup right...

The bike belonged to 56 y/o guy having a mid life crisis. I'm not trying to be Nicky Hayden here. I'm having problems in a straight line. All of the things you listed here sound like a good place to start especially the reflectors. LOL!!! I'm going to try to take the thing back to stock and see what happens. I only got 6500.00 in it I'm sure I can get that back with only 2700 miles on it. I really want to keep it, I guess I'm just used to being on my Gix 1000. Thanks as always.

Plus sounds to me like you need to convert it to near stock from front to rear. And find out and fix everything the previous owner did to the engine, from the air box to the exhaust. Then, do what you want, but, only one step at a time
