Dial ins for bracket racing?

I tried bracket racing last week for the first time and actually won...but it was street class. This week I'm gonna move to ProBike/No Box and just wondering how you guys determine your dial in times? Last week I set it a few hundredths under my personal best..and just tried to go as fast as I could. I dialed in 5.95 and won the final with a 5.972...so it worked out. But this week I'm paying more to play..and trying for the $500 purse, so I'm just curious how it's done by people who know what they're doing. It seems like trying for a pb everytime will set me up for wheel spin or wheelies etc....which will knock me out quick. What works for you?

Thx..

At our local track if you get there a couple hours early you can get a few runs in. I usually set according to fastest of the day. (Running a car only, no suit for the bike) and on our Wednesday drags we can change our times. So usually by 9pm I lower it because the air temp makes a decent difference on my na car. Idk if any of that helps.
