Don't forget Tapoco Lodge as an option. It is just a few miles or less down 219 from Deals Gap Resort and is much much nicer (albeit more expensive I would assume). Not to mention the plethera of options in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Lots of options.

Keep this thread up near the top so we all know definite dates...I have a friend in NC that's been asking me to tame the Dragon with him...I'd love to go, but I'll need a baby sitter, way to trailer the Busa down...ask the hubby if he wants to go too...

Va Busa, if anyone comes from over your way, you could always trailer it to my neck of the woods and ride as a smaller group from here (about 2 1/2 hrs to Pigeon Forge, another hour or so to the Dragon - but it feels shorter than that). I hate riding alone for such distance so I would welcome the company.

Hey Busa1300Nut, Sounds like I'm in. If the offer is still up to crash at your place I'll take. I could even sleep in the back of my expedition if I could park out there, whatever is easy, bro, I don't want to intrude. I can fit a futon in the back with the rear seats down.

So where will people be staying? Deals Gap, Tapoco Lodge, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge? I am just decidding where to make reservations and want to be where the crowd is. Also, anyone interested in sharing a room?

I'm not suer yet but I think we (guys from work and myself) might try staying here this time. Pigeon Forge takes about 30mins to get to the Gap and if the Foothills Parkway isn't fixed yet add another 10-20mins. Bad detour.

Yeah I remember the detour, it sucks but is manageable unless you are squimish (tight decending turns, gravely road surface in spots, etc.).

I personally would prefer to stay somewhere in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg as there is so much more to do there and many more places to eat etc. Deal's Gap is no mans land as far as accomodations and restaurants etc. But it depends on where everyone else will be.

Hey guy,s and gal,s, I just called my local DOT, and the Foothills Parkway between 321 and 129 is still closed, but there is a deture that takes an extra 30min or so, but you can still get to the Dragon from Pigion Forge or Gatlinburg
