If I extend my swingarm, how do I measure for a new chain? I will probably just add some links to my old one until I can get swingarm adjusted for launching, but after it is setup, I wanna put a new chain on the bike. How do I measure for it?

I just told the manufacturer to send me enough chain for a 4" extension with my sprocket setup and that is all it took... Didn't have to measure...

Oh, man, now were talking about math!!! Never was good at math.....LOL!!!!
Thanks for the help!!!!

I was under the impression that each link was about one inch, if that is the case then if you go 4" over then you will need 8 extra links since you are going 4 more out and 4 more back in. Just measure a link and do the calculation. Always order a little more than you need since it is easy to remove links but not a good idea to add them (master links are the weakest point). I ordered a 150 link chain for my 9" over arm and they removed some when they installed it.

+14 links will add 4 3/8'
+12 links will add 3 3/4'
+10 links will add 3 1/8'
+8  links will add 2 1/2'
+6  links will add 1 7/8'
+4  links will add 1 1/4'

links on a 530 chain are 5/8s of an inch,(pin to pin)because there are 2 runs on the chain, every 2 links will add 5/8s of an inch to the w/b
