Casino gas?

A large Casino near me has opened a brand new fuel center, lots of pumps, a store, car wash etc. They’re gas prices are SIXTY cents a gallon cheaper than the nearby Chevron. That’s a NINE dollar difference in a 15 gallon fillup in my car. About $2.70 less for a 4.5 gallon fill up on my bikes. Wonder where they get their fuel? New place, clean(er) tanks. Hard to pass up. Whaddyathink? Try some out?

Our local indian casino (Red Hawk) is also the lowest in the area, not sure how they are consistently lower, on par with Costco prices. It's often packed there. And yeah, my Navigator holds 30 gallons, so not unusual to shell out $100 to fill it up.

I always look for the brand Top Tier if possible. They have a standard for the additive package that’s used.

For a car or truck I don’t care as much but still prefer to buy from a Top Tier station to support what I believe is a higher quality product.

Sounds like a reservation fuel price, I know reservation owned gas stations in canada have lower gas due to tax break.

It’s down to $3.89 for 91 octane now which is 10-20 cents per gallon cheaper than the Gulf station a couple miles away. It’s also way cheaper than the Chevron in Oakhurst eight miles away. Living so close to Yosemite I have to pay higher than ‘normal’ prices any time of the year, just like the tourists.

Chevron probably is higher quality with Techron and along with Shell and Valero (which) used to be Beacon is what I use when I’m on the road. I also pour a bit of SeaFoam in the bike’s tanks for peace of mind.

These guys speak about pump gas and say not all pump gas is the same. As I’ve heard guys like Brock Davison say, the Top Tier additive package is proven to run 19x cleaner than the cheapest package. I’d also think that dirt cheap gas may clog fuel filters but I’m not sure.

I heard never get gas when the tanker is at the station because when they drop the load of gas it stirs up all the debris in the bottom of the tanks underground. The sediment it kicks up will clog your fuel filters.

So I try to go to a Top Tier station first unless the tanker is at the station.

I use ExxonMobil almost exclusively. If I can't get that I'll use Chevron. Always believed top tier was better.

I came across this thread and thought it's an interesting discussion, especially given that it's been around for a couple of years now. A casino offering gas at a significantly cheaper price does sound tempting!

The nearby Chevron’s prices are $6.48 for 91 octane. The Station near the Casino was a Chevron and is now a Gulf station but with ethanol. I don’t go there. The casino is still the cheapest and the nearest Costco is 40 miles away. I had a big grocery shopping day at Vons (like Safeway) and got gas there in my car with a .30 per gallon discount. It was $5.09 with the discount. I have no idea where they get their gas. Living so close to Yosemite we never have great gas prices. Four+ gallons on either bike costs over $20 for a half day 180 mile ride in the foothills.
