Case Sealant?

Hey Guys,
Any input on Case Sealant? I'm getting ready to put my motor back together.
I have some Permatex Ultra Black, but I heard somewhere not to use a silicone based sealer?

I used Haylomar. Seems to be fine so far. Then I used permatex Right-stuff for the cylinder base, with no gasket, but I wouldn't reccommend that unless you've measured you MAC.
