Can someone explain the difference between

Someone told me my Yosh RS3 bolt ons are really slip ons. My header is stock but the mid pipes aren't. The mid pipes slip on to the header - the cans bolt on to the mid pipe. Bolt ons right? See pic

I belive slip-ons are a mid-pipe and can whereas bolt-ons are just cans which go to the stock mid-pipe.

yea you had it right in your first post... slip-ons mount into the stock headers with the clamps... bolt-ons bolt onto the stock mid pipes...

Slip ons is more of a generic term than anything. A lot of other bikes' methods of attachment is the slip on.

a busa uses bolt on pipes (3 bolts) but a sv 650 uses slip ons no bolts just a small muffler clamp
