You can tell right away. The Rolex hands sweep steadily and the fakes tick-tick-tick.

Depends on the fake and the Rolex. Rolex has an Oyster Quartz model that actually moves once per second.

Most cheap fakes move once per second using a battery operated quartz movement. All Rolex Oyster (non-quartz) made in the last 50 years are self winding mechanical movements.

Look close at the other real Rolex (non-quartz) and you will see it actually moves at 5-8 beats per second. Some of the better fakes using an ETA movement also sweep at 8bps. The real one I am wearing runs @ 5bps, but it is a 1969 vintage. I forget when they changed bps

i can get fakes from super cheap, like 15-20 bux, that tick once per second, or rip offs that run off of movement, not batteries, that sweep using very small ticks, several per second, those are very convincing, and usually run about 120 bux
