Ca. DMV sucks

I know it's not just me I have heard this from everyone, just mention the word DMV and the stories start. I wont go into details of my hellish experience with them again today just wanted to know how they get away with it, can't seem to get out of the Ca. DMV without a gold card and a migrain. It took 4 trips to DMV, 1 trip to the doctor for a med. exam ( I have a comm. lic.) $40.00 to DMV plus med deductible of $40.00 and 3 months just to renew my lic. I know they pay them well it's a state job so why can't they get some people who don't have there heads up there A$$!!! I have a clean record and have driven professionaly most of my life (Im 42 years old) so why do I have to go through this shiz everytime I go to DMV.

Are other states this bad or is it just a Ca. thing?

It's insane...

I think most of the DMV is freaking drunk to, It would explain a lot. Im sure there are good people there, I just never seem to get to talk to that one.

Don't know about a commercial license but, regular drivers license here in Missouri is easy. Takes about $20, about 20 minutes (less if there's not many people there) and get your picture taken. Good for another 6 years.

Don't know about a commercial license but, regular drivers license here in Missouri is easy. Takes about $20, about 20 minutes (less if there's not many people there) and get your picture taken. Good for another 6 years.

Only good for 4 years here and it takes several hours on a good day, if your lucky enough to get it done in one trip. Ca. has a fee for everthing. Lived in this state all my life but I have about had it. Maybe move to Nevada where the casino's and hookers pay the taxes and hop across the border to ride.

DMV visits do suck..... Fortunately we have a tiny town near us where they kinda forget to do all the testing if they know you so I always go there.. I used to go to the big town and it was pure hell....

3 months to renew your license?, do you mean you let your CDL lapse for 3 months? I have a CDL and have been renewing it over the net for years now, that and mailing in my exams when their do. I did go in once this year to add some endorsements. Oh! I did have to go to a certified fingerprint place because of the HazMat endorsement for a TSA background check ......... No they didn't find me as a threat

I'll avoid visiting DMV in CA at any cost. I usually do things necessary via online but there are times where I had to come into DMV. *groans*
