I'm 6'1" and 210 lbs, and was wondering if there's any type of specs out there that tell you how the busa's settings should be for damper, shock, etc for a person my size. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First figure out what kind of riding you want to do.

Aggressive cornering will have your bike riding high and stiff suspension.

Cruising will be close to stock settings adjusted for your extra weight. The bike will have a plusher ride but will wallow if pushed hard in the corners.

Drag racing will have you lowering and extending the bike, which will kill ground clearance for any twisty riding you might do.

So experiment and see whats best for you.

I think going on the previous posts, I'm looking for cruising WITH some aggressive cornering. Not looking for a dedicated drag racer.

I also searched for jinksters settings and could not find them, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Currently, I'm feeling like when going into a turn, the bike isn't very agreeable to leaning- I know it's a diff bike than the Katana I owned prior, but all I had to do with that bike was lean a little and its response was YEA SURE LET'S DOO DIS!!! My Busa in turns kind of responds with a "oh, you were talking to me?"

Jinkster's suspension thread is so helpful, I saved it as a word doc just so I can have access to it whenever....just a thought!

OK so for anyone who has done this, I really just want to make the most of the stock components on the bike for now, and jinkster's info talks about changing front fork springs etc.. Can anyone tell me if they just made adjustments to the STOCK components and how it turned out?

When we riding? You really think it is hard to put it into a knee draggin lean? Mine seems to want to fall over everytime I go around a curve and I only weigh 160 lbs. you need to use your pegs plus counter steering and get that ass of the seat.

Let me know when you are up for a ride... maybe devldog, quasar, jet a and even your friend with the 14

Cheap bastard that I am, I decided to lose 40 pounds rather than change springs. I used Jinkster's settings all the way...

Big improvement, very satisfied!

My preload was maxed out and I did not like the way the front end would dive w/ hard braking. Also was rough on the crappy roads we have in the NE. I am 210#.

I sent my forks to GP Suspension for new springs and revalving. Made a WORLD of difference in handling and smoothness over rough roads.

Check them out here

Ok, I to am too lazy to go through a process of tuning my suspension. But I am getting better just by doing it. Like everyone is saying, there is no perfect one setting for your size etc because of everyone's varying riding technique. If you have a little time and a wrench and screw driver, try JINKSTERS setup. If that seems, like too much, just use use the settings listed on Sport Rider site because it is better [read tighter] than factory.

I have a chart that lists: Factory Soft / Factory / Sport Rider / Race Nowdays, I switch between these all the time, depending on the need, which is making me a lot more comfortable fussing with it.

My race settings are from paying a track pro to bounce my bike determine best settings with my stock suspension - world of improvement in the front breaking and feel on the track... but way too harsh for streets.

If you want to tweak a little bit, they recommend only change one thing at a time, which makes sense. If you are lazy like me, setup the Sport Rider settings, and if it's still too loose or tight, just turn everything 1 or 2 clicks in the appropriate direction. Obviously that is not optimal, just quick and easy ;)

But JINKSTERS process is a better way to go. Hats off to your long living Busa Suspension settings, post Jinkster!
