I think i found my next move. I did get the word on my busa it is sold :(.. but i do have a back up plan. Went to the Ducati dealer today (hurting back and all) played with the 848, 1198, street fighter.. 848 and 1198 feel like awsome supersport bike but to me would SUCK for any distance and comfort. The streetfigher feels real nice should have enuff power, but cant get over the sticker shock of a bike with no body and i just could see myself on that.

So going with my orignial plan, my Sales manager wasn't in today so he is calling me tuesday with my final price on a new Gixxer1k black and cranberry.

Sorry i love the busa, but for my size the gixxer is gonna fit me much better.

Man, I am sorry... that Busa was one nice ride... You have mad paint skills my friend! Doesn't matter what you are driving, as long as you still make the Bash(s)!

YEah shawn still be at the bashs, jut not on a busa. Ya know it i didn't have suck@ss insurance and my Alfac would pay for my time off i wouldnt have had to sell the busa. But i will still be at the fall bash, problely with my 600 unless they make me a offer on the 1k like i got on the 600 when i purchased it

But i can always build other bikes from what ive learned, plus still having some green and ****e left might also help..:)

Sorry to hear about your Busa. But it seems that is the direction you wanted to go .....regardless. And you really want that Gixxer 1k. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do :(

Happy to hear you'll still be joining us at the Bash. Look forward to meeting you.

The Ducatis are fabulous bikes but I traded my 05 Ducati 999 first part of July because I simply didn't ride it. The ergos (the 999 was the "Comfortable" Ducati Superbike) pounded after about 90 minutes . The same light chassis that made it so nimble meant it soaked up less of the less of the road bumps. After 3.5 years with the bike I would walk out to the garage look at all 4 bikes then climb on the Busa or the Goldwing or even the Victory before I would take the Duc. I am sure someone will mention it but maintenance on the Ducs is a pricey and a bit of a pain. Let me ask if you are looking for the upright bike have you considered the B King. Most dealers that have them are pushing them out the door for very short money ( I was one of the first to say how ugly they were and that the pipes were hideous or it looked like a rolling coffee table from the front. I test rode one on a lark and was amazed. I took the dealers show case bike that already had the 2 brothers slip ons. All I can say is wow! 2nd Gen Busa Drive train and Brakes upright seating position. The ugly bastard pretties right up when you are looking over the handle bars. Anyone o doesn't like the looks just show them the tail lights I still have and ride my 05 Turbo Busa but its 50 50 which one I climb on when I hit the shed.

I got the same impression from the Duc as your sayin. And the b-king is HUGE to me. Last time i was on the scales before my surgery i was 167pounds and 5/10.5.. Not a very big guy to be pushing a B-king, I did become comfortable with the busa's size but it did take awhile and some tweaking here and there. But even at the Gap i do feel the size of the busa, its a awsome beast to ride but when your ride and the people your riding with push the edge most of the time the busa to me felt little unstable in hard corners but thats because the bike's mass was tyrn to upright me. Guess if i want another busa i better hit up the BUFFETT a little more often.

The B King looked huge to me too Then I rode it. I think if I were looking in the 1 liter class for an upright Naked I would be checking out a Tuano and a Speed Triple.

Rode my Son's 07 1000 yesterday and like the Busa, They are insanely fast. Just not quite as comfortable. I bet you won't have a problem with the transition.
