Big bore question!!

I have my bike torn apart right now and I am seriously considering a big bore kit although I am completely ignorant about them, lol. I saw a couple kits that were a 1298cc kit, and a 1363cc kit. I don't know if you can use the stock cylinder walls or if you have to get new ones. I was hoping someone here can tell me.
