just did an oil change on my 08, and i'm always worried about strippin that stupid drain plug just from seeing the threads on here. Have done all the work on my vehicles/bikes since i was old enough to drive and don't think i have ever stripped a bolt. Tightened the drain plug with a 3/8" ratchet after the change, went barely snug about 1/4 turn past tight, torqued it to 14ft lbs and i was already past it, probably about 16 or 17 ft lbs. I know the recommended torque is 16 but i like to go a little light just in case. Just a warning, if i would have gave it much more who knows, maybe i would have stripped it. If i ended up stripping the drain plug my torque wrench would probably be through the garage door, i've been known to throw a few wrenches when i get frustrated
