Can I get some honest criticism on my project. It's all rough stock, need sanding, also painting the pad black. The back rest pad is a head rest out of a car. Got 2 out of the junk yard for $5.00.

Interesting. I need something like this myself. Looks to be a bit high though. How is the support, have you throught about angle braces so it wont lean back when pressure is applied?

I like it and think it's good as is. With the forward lean angle of rider and passenger on the Busa the passenger is rarely if ever sitting completely upright. For that reason the backrest doesn't need to be able to support a tremendous amount of weight. The pad looks right too, as if it would contact the woman's lower back in the right spot, you know the nice spot where her back curves in above her rear end:laugh:
Have your wife, girl, or random hot chick test sit it for ya. I think it'll be good once it's finished, nice job.

Dude +1000 rep for ingenuity! I honestly dont know why you would need a back rest, forward lean and all but what the hell do i know, i'm a kid. LOLOL On the critical side, I don't much care for the design, i dont find it aesthetically pleasing. Other than that dude rock on!

Guys, it hasn't gone to the body shop yet. Sitting on the back seat it feels about right for the angle. It really to give the wife a break from leaning forward for a extended time. This will only be on when she wants to go for a ride. Other then that just the stock grab rail. as for bracing I'm thinking of putting a grab handle that will be horizontal and 90 up to stiffin the back rest. Can't ride yet here in Maine, so just playing around in garage.
