I'm going to show my lack of mechanical knowledge about the engine. I started hearing a little rattle about 5k miles ago, and the my mechanic said it was the timing chain something. Sorry, I don't know the name of it and maybe someone will recognize what it is and know the real name. There's a pin that wears out, it won't affect the timing, or come apart and it doesn't affect the chain but it makes a noise. He said all GSXR motors get it and he replaced it since he was in there checking the valves. Here's a pic of the whatever it is from another bike. The pin goes through the shaft. Dude I just ride the thing, I don't fix it.
