2001 currently with no other mods. I do want to get a TRE but I understand it adversly affects the idle. Is this where an ATRE comes into play? I looked at one from motorcycleradar.com (sp?). It talks about not affecting the idle and is also programmable for different gears. If you have one of these or another comprable brand input is welcome.

I have the ATRE that you are reffering to. It works as advertised. It has no impact on idle, and provides several modes allowing you to configure it as desired.

It is constructed well, and doesn't require hacking the gear position switch connectors. It is, in all, much more sophisticated than any similar unit that I have seen.

amsctalx - I,ve also been looking at the same unit you
describe. Does it come "programed" to just plug into and work
on my stock '01, or doe's it need to be mapped with laptop & dyno ?
