Busa's are spanking the big Kawi in a variety of areas. ZX-14 will never have the cult following that Busa's do...regardless.

Anyone see the special on SPEED about the '08 Busa? Sweet.

One magazine did a shootout between the two bikes. The best of 3 on the 1/4 mile. The first race was won by decisively the ZX. The second decisively by the Busa. The third race was won by hundredth of a second by the ZX. The magazine did a huge writeup about the ZX being the Busa killer and dominating the strip. So, you can't believe the hype in print.

Like Dennis said above, There is not enough of a difference to be able to call it a Busa killer, and this year they are getting

There is twice as many 07 Busas on the road as ZX 14's, so the public in general is not convinced that the ZX 14 is better. Each bike has it's positives and negatives, just comes down to the rider's ability when it comes to performance and streetability is up to what fits you the best. The Busa was King for almost 9 years and will probably be king for another 9 when it comes to all around performance and mostly when it comes to the almost CULT like following. Hang around this board for a while and you will see what I mean. The ZX-14 will never have a following like the Busa.

a few hundredths is the difference between a good launch and a great launch at that level of riding
and whos to say that the rider is even any good and not the authors butt buddy

rider and bike setup is the key. You can even set them both to kill use the same rider for both bikes and you'll get different reslts. The rider may be more comfortable on one vs the other.

Stock vs stock you're probably splitting hairs....

twice as many busas? Probably a higher ratio than that if you look at used bikes available. Showrooms have plenty of ZX bikes, Busa takes some looking around. Bike ads, there must be a 5-1 ratio and the ZX resale does not look promising.

I think the Busa was a purpose built bike that ended up looking like it did. (form follows function) It seems to have landed something of a "timeless" look

ZX was purpose built but only to try and whomp the Busa..(and that took a couple years) wrong motivation IMO

Partial to the Busa? probably (I have owned a number of Kawasakis over the years) but the thing is a work of art when it comes to technology and ability. 9 years on top says a lot in my book (and without any big revamp no less)

I looked at the ZX before I bought the Busa... I bought on looks, I just happened to luck out that the bike was a performance dream

In the real world stock ridez to close to call. It would be the rider. On the strip and the standing miles, LSR. The Busa is and will remain KING

All I know is that I sell a tremendous amount of -1 front sprockets to ZX14 owners all saying the same thing. They have a buddy with a Busa and they want to try and beat him. This would indicate to me that the Kawis need the help of gearing to take the Busa. Of course this knocks off a coupla top end mph so if the race lasts long enough the Busa will pass it anyways.

Isn't the BUSA still in the Guiness book of world records?
