metal in the avg cat is only worth about $25-50 from a car scrap dealer (metals are Palladium and Platinum in ceramic suspension) I sold literally hundreds of these units in the 70's and 80's...

Gas was also heck of a lot cheaper then. Things have changed... They get anywhere from $25 up to $350-$400 from the scrap dealers around here for cats. A buddy of mine junks cars. He gets about $400 for the car and depending on the car, another $300 or so for the cat if he cuts them off. You can't get a cheap beater for commuting anymore. They're all gold... Thanks China!
