Another scam on Cycletrader

maoz

Registered
2003 Hayabusa with 500 miles for only $5,900? The location is listed as Peytona, WV which is about 25 miles from me. I checked out the phone number and it is a dialup number for an ISP in WV in a town about 250 miles away. Just pitiful

What a shock - he already responded with this garbage:

Hi John,
The bike is still available. The title is clear and
ready to sell it. We can start the deal right now by escrow if you agree. I will make the delivery by Fedex to your location on my expenses ( you will have the bike in 24-48 hours ). depends on how fast you will pay the escrow company. Where in USA do you live?

Bye
Ralph

Here was my response -

Thanks for the quick response Ralph, I actually live in Marmet, WV which is about 25 miles from where you live. I can meet you this evening with cash in hand at the Main Kwong Chinese place in Racine. Let me know, thanks.

-----------------------------

These people make me absolutely sick - stealing innocent people's money. I'll let you know if the crook responds, although I rate that as extremely unlikely.

I like how it says its the "special edition color"

I'd like to whoop his ass - if the SOB would meet me somewhere but low and behold we cannot meet tonight, see his email for information:

It would be perfect if i could meet you there but i am
in Sacramento for couple of weeks. I have a problem
here and i have to solve it out, that`s why i need
money and i sell my bike.
I can not meet your it`s a very long road to home in
WV.
But, we can escrow and you can go and pickup the bike
from home after i get the payment confirmation from
the company. I will let my brother know that you will
be there. Unfortunately i can not let him get the
money because his only 18 years old.
And i also prefer escrow to send me the payment
directly here in Sacramento.
So do you agree this way ?

Bye
Ralph

Seriously though, are these people 15 years old? Who is their right mind would send this guy money after reading this crap? I am considering an appropriate response, perhaps that my brother works for the FBI in Sacramento and I will have him drop off the money at this guy's house.

since your "25" miles away ;) tell him you wanna go over and see it! what fun

Here was my response:

I'm sorry to hear about your problems out in

> like just the one for me. I understand about not
> wanting your brother to have that much money, 18
> year olds can be kind of hard to trust! Escrow
> would be fine. If you can give me your brother's
> address in Peytona I will go check out the Hayabusa
> and then wire you the money immediately. Let me
> know, all this cash is burning a hole in my pocket.

He responded with:

Ok. please register for escrow at www.escrow-moto.com
, they have pretty good services.
Once you transfer the money to the company you will
notice the bike location their website.
Let me know when you register and i will open the
transaction.

Bye
Ralph

I think you should ask for the VIN to start researching insurance rates...

Ok he doesn't even want to give you the address so you can look it over till you have the money tied up in escrow ................ WOW --where's my shotgun

What a joker - I'm going to tell him to take a hike as I don't see how I can possibly bring charges against someone who is unidentified.

Tell him since you are close, this gives you a perfect opportunity to inspect the bike before buying. This saves running back and forth later. When he says NO. tell him you are tracking his IP.

Moaz, excellent responses you are given this guy... This makes me so angry, I bought my busa off cycletrader but I hesitate to recomend it to others now because of this crap! I'm about an hr from Sac. Tell him you have a buddy that lives near him and I will meet him with the cash as you are standing in front of the bike and we can complete the deal over a cel phone call.  I'm and avg size guy but I can bring a couple giant biker dudes with me to dispense the whoopass!

I'll try e-mailing him ( acting as if interested ) telling him I'm in Calif... how much you wanna bet he says he's in WV and needs to do the transaction thru escrow.
