Yeah I know this has been beaten to deathand I did a search to find some specific info on this to no avail...I just found out that K&N not only make a street filter,but a race filter???is this similar to the BMC race filter?
It seems that the K&N street filter gets a bad rap( I used that on my Gen 1
Busa)but I didn't see any info on the Race version...any info on K&N race would be appreciated,Dr.Nick

I have the race K & N filter and I think it does just as good as the Pipercross I had in before... definately better made.

BMC Race filter is the ONLY real upgrade from stock. The stock filter flows pretty well.

Silver, Do you think the BMC race is safe to ride everyday? I saw one and it looks like nothing more than a porous sponge unless I saw the wrong thing.

BMC race here, does not look like a sponge just a really thin K&N. Just have to clean it often. Street ridden here too.

Pashnit,is the bmc race and K&N race similar???did you ever compared the two side by side?...are they both cotton gauze type of material that are pleated???....thx Dr.N

I've been using them on my GSX-R's for years with no ill effect. Not sure what you saw but they are not that porous.
