Ahhhhhhh sh*t thats going to cost me

Purchased a Busa engine that was used for drag racing. It had a chain rip through it. Busting sprocket cover bolt mounting on the case. Trying to say not much happened. Something local welder can repair. Have a machinist tap a new thread mount. A crack can be repaired by welding, check going with that route if possible.
It's true about replacing both lower and upper crankcase. Their a machined at same time as one piece.

Hey. Guess what. Before i even read this post agian. I contacted my friend who knows of a machine shop who said if its its only a crack. they can tig weld it to stop the oil from leaking. Right now only oil "drips" out... after a day or 2 maybe a quart leaked out... So maybe i can just weld it shut? worth a shot? Its not like i can break it again.

Absolutely try that first! Be sure to disconnect the battery before welding and place the ground strap as close as possible to the work
