Suzuki has issued an immediate recall of all '99 600/750 GSX-Rs, citing concerns about possible cam chain failures. According to Suzuki, the Gixxers’ automatic cam-chain tensioner can allow the cam chain to come in contact with its top guide, which may lead--in the worst cases--to a breakage of the cam chain itself. However, Suzuki says that this recall is a proactive measure and not a result of a rash of GSX-R cam-chain disasters. All ’99 GSX-R owners should be notified by Suzuki to bring their bikes to an authorized dealer for servicing.
Not a ‘Busa recall, but certainly something to be concerned about if the same design was used.
