I Have a 99 busa and bought a 02. I've been told if I swap the clocks on 99 to the 02 it becomes unrestricted is there any truth in this

Restrictions are in the ecu and I don't believe the ecu is interchangeable on those. So to answer your question no there is no truth to that.

Imagine you just walked into a club and all the regulars are there watching on...
We are a friendly helpful bunch here, your question will be answered in due time.
The 1999 and 2000 models are the ‘unrestricted ‘ ones, ‘01 onwards have a speed limiter, limited to 299 kms, 186mph.
The 99 and 2000 models have no such limit.
Swapping ‘clocks’ will not change a speed restricted bike to otherwise.
