8in arm, do i need a new spring?

hello, im going to install my 8in arm and want to know if i need a new spring for my shock? Im about 230 pounds and i sometimes (hardly ever) carry a passenger. If i can get away without it are there some adjustments i can make to stock setup? thanks guys

You really need a spring and the shock revalved to make it work correctly. You are putting more leverage against the shock. Even at stock wheelbase it is a bit weak for us guys that weigh in at 200+

I'm 205 and it hasn't been a problem for me . I ride daily ( only transportation ) . I have a 600 3-9" arm (set at about 7" ) I've even rode with a passenger and had no problems but you will need to lower the rear . Mines lowered with adjustable bones from Goldenchild here on the board .
